Dear Vanderhoof Families,

I hope that this summer was filled with fun, and plenty of quality time with friends and family. I know that we all needed time to reconnect with loved ones after the many challenges we all faced throughout the past year. I’m excited to welcome everyone back to the start of the 2021-2022 school year!  We are pleased to welcome returning and new families this school year and we can’t wait to see everyone. This is going to be an incredible year.  We learned many valuable lessons last year that have taught us the importance of connection, collaboration and togetherness and we want to harness those lessons and use them to propel us into this new year with energy and purpose. Last year had its challenges and I’m so grateful for the way in which our community came together to support each other. I believe that we can tackle anything that comes our way as long as we continue to do it together. We know that COVID has shifted our mindset on many levels and we are excited to capitalize on the tools and processes that we embraced during the pandemic all of which support solid education for all students.

We know that this year may still feel and look a little different from what we are all used to, as we continue to navigate this virus, however it is all about perspective and I invite everyone to see the new possibilities and innovative ways to learn and come together as a community. We are excited to begin another year of learning and fostering relationships. When our staff and students return for the new school year, they will find a renovated and updated school that includes a secure entryway, new main office, clinic, conference room, teacher workroom, library, new flooring throughout the entire school new gym and art room floor, new basketball hoops, new sinks additional adult restrooms and our school colors painted on the walls. This is all new this summer on top of the renovations from last year with our new playground, camera surveillance system and lighting. Thank you again to Jeffco voters and the school board for making this all a possibility. All signs point to another productive and memorable school year. Our skilled and dedicated staff members are busy planning and preparing for your child(ren). Our enthusiastic office team is registering new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files. Our hard working custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning and preparing the facility. And, our much-appreciated PTA is gearing up to welcome families, plan exciting events and programs and support our staff and students. We are indeed a caring community with the common goals of nurturing responsible, caring students and promoting high-level learning. I look forward to partnering with all of you again this year.
